Prometheus 5.1.8 was released on May 26, 2008. setup_5_1_8_080526.aaa** (45 MB) is a self extracting install file that provides a step by step procedure to install the program.

* After downloading the setup_5_1_8_080526.aaa file, rename it to ssetup_5_1_8_080526.exe. The *.aaa naming convention is used to avoid certain firewall and Windows explorer settings.

Important Installation Requirement! You must install Microsoft .NET Framework Version 3.5 to successfully install Prometheus Version 5.1.8. This .NET Framework install file can be downloaded from the Microsoft download page: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/

Users upgrading from Version 3.2.3 or earlier should completely uninstall the previous Version of Prometheus using Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Select the Prometheus application from the list of currently installed programs, and then proceed to remove the Prometheus application. Any release later than Version 3.2.3 should not necessitate this operation.

The install process will ask you to select what features you want to install. You have three options: (1) Only install the Prometheus application, (2) Only install the PrometheusCOM, and (3) Install both the Prometheus application and the PrometheusCOM. The default setup option only installs the Prometheus application. Do NOT install the PrometheusCOM unless you have a software license key. The PrometheusCOM is intended to support third party applications using the Prometheus DLLs, and is not needed for the normal operation of the Prometheus application. Users interested in obtaining a PrometheusCOM license key should contact Level-2 technical support at the following email address: . A separate PrometheusCOM user manual is available (PrometheusCOM-Manual.pdf).

A readme file is provided to summarize the changes made since the previous version. This file is an Adobe PDF file: ReadMePrometheus5.1.8.pdf (86 KB).

The Prometheus Data I/O Standards Manual is available as an Adobe PDF file: PrometheusDataIO-March2006.pdf (443 KB).

The Prometheus User Manual (PrometheusVer_5.1.8UserManual.pdf) is available as an Adobe PDF file (3 MB). This user manual was released in May 2008.

Two sample data sets are provided: Dogrib-1TestDataSet.zip (13 MB) and, Dogrib-2TestDataSet.zip (425 KB)

Each sample data set also contains an example fgm file (Dogrib-1.fgm, and Dogrib-2.fgm) and a README file describing each file.

The Prometheus Error Report is available as an Adobe PDF file, and also as a Microsoft Word (*doc) file.

The Error Report (Prometheus Error Report.doc, or Prometheus Error Report.pdf) should be used to report and document any problems with the model.
